- Go two screens down from where Birdramon dropped you (to the screen of Monochromon's Shop - and the toilet).
- Then return to the previous screen to engage Ogremon and his bandits (because you must come from the south to trigger the ambush). Defeat him (once the Agumon are down, the battle should be easy). Get HP Chip.
- Auto Pilot back.
- TIP: Don't forget to pick up your daily ration of Giant Meat whenever you're around (you don't have to sell them now as you should be making plenty of Bits from now on).
- Quicksave.
- You also might wanna stock up again on Items now.
- We'll need to wait two hours until 7 AM for Yuramon to come out (TIP: You can train on Def x 1 to pass time). Then, check Yuramon's rumors (bandits still around).
- Fly back to Great Canyon.
- Take the elevator down (you don't need to fall down that risky cliff anyways) and head southwest to reach Ogre Fortress.
- Scare away the Agumon there and head inside.
- NOTE: You can - and you HAVE TO - avoid all battles here except the unavoidable one (i.e. the three Agumon guarding Ogremon's room). TIP: Use your Greymon as shield (enemy's have to get to you, not your Digimon to engage in a battle); also, keep in mind that while you're opening an Item PC, enemies cannot engage you! Use this to your advantage.
- So defeat the three Agumon (A, B or C formation, it's all the same!) and head inside.
- Ogre Battle 2! Defeat Ogremon. Get HP Chip.
- Before you leave, get Items in the back (door will be opened now).
- Then, go up the elevator and continue northeast to find the trapped Shellmon on the isolated chunk of earth (there's one Goburimon battle that you cannot avoid to get there, you must battle!).
- So the elevator at Ogre Fortress is causing the ground to move. Go down the elevator back into Ogre Fortress to reverse the bulging mechanism.
- Get out of the Fortress (through the main entrance) and head back up back to Great Canyon Top Area (where Birdramon drops you).
- Then head northwest to momentarily step into Freezeland. Then turn left and down the platform that leads you back to Great Canyon and Shellmon (now safe). RECRUIT (+ 2 PP, total: 20).
- NOTE: Do not forget the Def Chip from the Item PC here.
- Auto Pilot back.
- Read all of Shell News (Mr. M in Freezeland, the Lake Guardian, the UFO at Mt. Panorama and Ogremon still on the loose).
- Restock up on Items as needed.
- Quicksave.
- It should be 1 PM now. Head over to Overdell Cemetery and learn Megalo Spark from the Soulmon there (you might need to leave and re-enter the screen to find them instead of Tsukaimon). TIP: Do not waste any more than 3 hours or 6-9 battles trying to learn it. Simply RESET and try again (I know it may be tedious, but get over it!).
- Once learned, swap Spit Fire for Megalo Spark.
- Auto Pilot back.
- Quicksave.
- Then head over to Freezeland (make sure you're stocked up - TIP: Remember you should always have plenty recovery Items, as well as a couple Auto Pilots).
- When your Greymon starts to become sleepy, Sleep and Save (TIP: Don't Sleep right away though, as you can carry on a little bit - just don't keep him awake more than one hour).

Learning Megalo Spark
You might already know this, but I'll still say it: Brains don't matter. And watching the enemy use the Tech many times or prolonging the battle doesn't matter either. You don't even have to see the enemy use the Tech and you can defeat your opponent in two blows and still learn it! It's all a matter of "luck".
But I did notice something that is worth mentioning. Whether you're playing on a console (PSX, PS2, PSP) or an emulator, it seems that the short-term future is "pre-programmed". In other words, I think that when you always follow the same pattern, walking the same path (screens) to get to your destination (in this case, Overdell Cemetery) and fighting the battles the same way, with the same Techs, in the same order; then the outcome tends to always be the same (i.e. learning Megalo Spark or not learning it).
However, if you do something "different" then you can alter or "rewrite" the internal coding of the game, re-arrange it - like rolling dice -, thus triggering different resulting possibilities (one of which would be learning Megalo Spark).
To do this, what I always do is try something different every time I load; such as entering, leaving and re-entering the screen once, twice or several times, engaging the enemies in different order, changing the Techset my Digimon uses, and using different Items in battle (like tossing a Various when it is not needed).
In the case of learning Megalo Spark, it didn't take me any more than half an hour to get this time around. And I did it on my 5th load on the 1st battle. However, in all my loads I tried different approaches, as I've stated earlier.
Before realizing this, I would spend hours on other game saves trying to learn it, but I was always following the same pattern, so my "luck" of learning it was heavily reduced, as it depended on a chance of "luck" which I had no control over. But now it's different, because you can re-shuffle the cards, so to speak, to "reshuffle" the internal game coding and trigger different results.
Hope that helps.
