The Digimon World Perfect Playthrough!

I have designed this guide to "beat" the game with your very first Digimon while achieving the following amazing feats:
  • 96 Prosperity Points (yes, with just one Digimon!)
  • Learning the 6 rarest and hardest-to-get Techs - namely: Pulse Laser, DG Dimension, Full Potential, Delete Program, Reverse Program and Infinity Burn!
  • A Maxed Out MetalGreymon! (full 9999/999 on all Parameters!)
  • And of course, a Maxed Out Machinedramon as well!

Now, some clarifications before proceeding any further:
By "beating" the game I mean defeating Analogman and Machinedramon for the first time (in other words, having the end credits roll). The true MASTERY of the game, however, actually involves hundreds of hours of play and experience - the ultimate goal/test being the obtaining of ALL the 16 Medals (and this guide will only help you get just 3 of them).

As for why 96 PP and not 100, the answer is simple: the 4 PP left come from Monzaemon and Nanimon, and to recruit them you'd need to first have a Numemon in order to be able do the whole Toy Town quest (Toy Mansion being one of Nanimon's 5 hiding locations). So although you'd recruit these two Digimon, you'd also screw up the rest of the walkthrough - it defeats the whole purpose.

Basically, what this guide is, is a speed-run through the game, getting the most out of everything with your very first Digimon. You'll be starting off with Agumon, going into Greymon and finally MetalGreymon.
With Agumon (and Spit Fire) you'll easily perform the first quests around Native Forest, Drill Tunnel and Tropical Jungle (Amida Forest), recruiting Digimon along the way (who'll provide some of the most necessary/important assets to the City early on - namely, the Item Shop and the Clinic).
Afterwards, once you get Greymon, the fun begins, as you'll be traveling out a lot more, exploring Digimon World almost in its entirety and recruiting a lot more Digimon as you go along. You'll learn Megalo Spark (from the Soulmon at Overdell Cemetery) and you'll do the Ice Sanctuary quest (accessible to Vaccine-types only) at Freezeland. You'll also be beefing up your Greymon a lot with all the Chips you acquire along the way.
Finally, when you get MetalGreymon, you'll be able to do the Grey Lord's Manor quest (accessible to Virus-types only), learn the rarest Techniques, recruit a couple more Digimon, finish beefing him up to Max Parameteres, and finally defeat Machinedramon at Mt. Infinity.
So that's it, in a nut shell.

That being said, this guide isn't for amateurs or first-timers, as it requires certain level of knowledge and skill that cannot be obtained without the experience that extensive hours of play entails. Besides, if you're a newbie, I would totally encourage you to play the game without guides or walkthroughs of any kind so as to enjoy a much better, richer, fresher game experience (at least the first time around). Just relax, let yourself immerse in the game and enjoy it!

So what do you need to keep up with this guide?
  • Previous game experience (better if you've already "beaten" the game a couple times before, so you'd know what to expect).
  • Patience, dedication and perseverance.
  • And to just enjoy the freaking game!

But if you're determined to undertake this quest, then I should mention right here and now that you'll be facing some REALLY tedious parts in the game. I'm talking about trading roughly 18,000 Merit Point with ShogunGekomon in order to get 22 Chips - and by the way, you'll need to spend about 600,000 Bits on Cards to be able to make so many points!!

Now, if you're willing to do all that, then let's play Digimon World!

PS: Oh, yes, I almost forgot! I recommend you always read every Day ahead so that you know what's coming and where we're going (in other words, don't follow the guide blindly step by step - inform yourself!).

PS2: Remember, you must start with Agumon!
